LINC Drink/Think: How to Do More Good

02/07/15
@ 10:00 AM

Sky Lounge at 315 on A

Our first LINC Drink/Think community conversation took place Saturday, February 7. Josh Kraft, Nicholas President and CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston and President of New England Patriots Charitable Foundation and Karley Ausiello, Senior Vice President, Community Impact, United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley shared their perspectives as community leaders, while participants shared their personal experiences trying to get involved in Boston and asked their tough questions about navigating this aspect of city life.

Some highlights from the conversation include:

Showing up and bringing others with you are two of the most valuable things you can do for organizations in Boston. Community involvement requires a ripple effect!
There are a lot of opportunities out there through your employers, the City of Boston, and directly with non-profits, but it often feels like service is a competition and requires a long-term commitment not all young people can make.
United Way, in partnership with great organizations like the Boys and Girls Clubs, have a strong pulse on those opportunities, whether you are looking for an occasional project on a Saturday, or a lengthier commitment, and can help you navigate the system.

Thanks to our neighbor, Barrington Coffee for fueling our conversation with amazing coffee and pastries!

Stay tuned for our next LINC Drink/Think!
