Downeast Cider HouseLINC was in session this summer at one of Boston's most unique, new spots - Downeast Cider House - and it was all for a great cause!
Attendees came out for a beautiful night under the Tobin Bridge in support the United Way Marian L. Heard Scholars program.
The MLH Scholar's program advances the next generation of leaders by promoting youth leadership development through positive adult relationships, education, and community involvement. While the students receive scholarship funding and a great support system through the program, we also know that there are many costs to college outside of tuition. A portion of every ticket purchased, as well as the corn hole tournament buy ins created a first ever emergency fund for the MLH Scholars to help cover the unexpected costs of college, like a bus ticket home for a family emergency, or expensive lab materials over and above the normal cost of books.
Thank you for your support of this great program and the awesome Scholars. And thanks to our hosts, Downeast Cider for their generosity - the bartenders donated their tips from Saturday to the cause!
Our final numbers are being tallied, but this event created something invaluable and important to the MLH Scholarship program - thank you!
